Join us for our Big Night Out! An adventure filled evening, running by torchlight, on the trails and travellers ways that surround the historic city of Winchester in Hampshire.
Big Night Out is back after an incredibly successful event last year! On a fully signed course, using our bespoke fluorescent directional markers, runners leave Winchester Athletics Track under cover of darkness. With headtorches lighting the way, you’ll head out of the City of Winchester and onto the South Downs Way. Following the SDW, the 22Km runners will climb steadily to Cheesefoot Head, where panoramic views of the night sky will really add to the sense of adventure. Running over Fawley down towards Morestead, runners will complete a circular loop before coming back down Cheesefoot Head and heading out onto the MOD land at Deacons Hill. Here you’ll meet the 11km runners as you both join the Pilgrims Trail and make your way back towards Winchester and St Catherines Hill. Now it’s a run along the Itchen Way as you follow the river back to the track and the finish line.

Car Parking is at East Winchester, Barfield Park and Ride, SO23 9PH and is free after 4pm
All runners will be required to have a headtorch, back up torch or spare batteries and clothing appropriate for the weather conditions. If you have night specific, highly reflective running gear then we would ask you to wear it. Remember though, this is a BIG NIGHT OUT, so we want to see glow in the dark neon, lots of colour and smiley happy adventurous faces.
We will have experienced Run Leaders available that will be out running the event on both courses. These BigFeat Legends will go out at different paces so if you are new to trail running at night or just wish to be part of a guided group, then we will have you covered.
